Befuddled by business part 2. Any tips on developing my weaknesses?

Hi Mefis, Right now they look something like this... 1) How do I network face to face without looking like an ass? I'm (hopefully) a good talker.. but when someone dives into my conversation to show normally... him.. self off, I find it kind of rude and irritating.. but I get people have to circulate...

2) I'm very anxious/weak at I.T and am struggling with cracking even a little beyond the utter basics. I am doing a college course (as usual) but still really struggling. This is a longstanding problem for me and there is so little I can find for people 'like me' that may help. I'm always asking 'why does/doesn't it do that' and struggling sooo much with the jargon/concepts like I almost 'don't have the right kind of brain' to absorb these non-language 'facts'... any suggestions?

3) How do you go from actually doing all the other shit of setting up.. to actually taking the plunge? Just anything that's helped you...

4) I will be moving from a 'touchy feely' professional past to include a corporate trajectory to my work (loosely speaking, coaching) any practical/emotional tips on this quite weird/slightly exciting transition for me?

Thanks in advance.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Yeah, this really needs to be more narrowly focused and state a clear, concrete question you want advice on to work on Ask Metafilter. -- goodnewsfortheinsane

This reads like reminder notes about what questions you want to ask, rather than actual questions. I think it would help if you fleshed this out a bit.
