Help me sell Joseph Conrad's "Victory" to my book club.

I have Joseph Conrad's "Victory" on my short-list to read. I'm hoping to pitch it to my book club. I have my own very particular reason for wanting to read the book but I don't expect that to hold sway. So, to put it simply: why should my book club read "Victory" by Joseph Conrad?
