How to block Metafilter comments without blocking the site?

I have Leechblock, but I can't seem to configure it in such a way that blocks metafilter comments without blocking the entire site.

I find the links on Mefi much less time-consuming than the commentary. I tried entering "www.metafilter.com/*" hoping it would load the front page but not allow the commentary threads, but that doesn't work.

Is there any way, using Leechblock, Greasemonkey, or any other online tool to block Metafilter comments either totally or for designated periods of time?

(Bonus points if this method works for Reddit as well)

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, for such a Metafilter-specific question it'd make more sense to post this over on Metatalk. Go ahead repost on that part on the site. -- cortex
