I am right, right?

I am right regarding the fact that the large majority of people are not trained or informed enough regarding what they see as black or white issues, no?

I am not actively seeking to be right. I’m really sick of the current political climate in the US right now and this is something I have had on my mind at least since the last mid-term elections.

I have certain political points of view, and several years ago I realized that there are several sides to every issue, policy, point of view, ideology, or whatever. I basically realized that I was not always right. I came to understand that my point of view was not necessarily better than the supposed opposition.

I do however believe that I might be 100% infallible when it come to this point of view. I believe that most people’s political beliefs are emotional, psychological, due to the way they may have been raised, their economic needs, and other reasons. There are good reasons people have their own politics and beliefs. However, when any of these people take a rigid stance and accuse their opposition as being undeniably wrong or naïve, they are more likely than others to misunderstanding or being incorrect in their beliefs. Basically, most of us are not economic experts or political scientists. We don’t and can’t really grasp how complicated the world is. Even an expert can’t speak with 100% certainty that one policy will work better or is better than another. (of course there does exist bad policies and opinions).

For example:

Policy A is just a policy; not good-not bad.

Policy B is the same.

Policy A may work well in conjunction with policy B and be successful.

The same policy A without B might fail miserably.

Add policy C, D, X, Z, a particular economic climate and political climate (locally and globally) and things get very complicated, unpredictable (or difficult to predict), and beyond the laypersons actual comprehension.

Also, particularly in the US, we have no idea how many different political systems or ideologies truly exist.

So basically there is no reason to have these pointless and rancorous arguments that go nowhere. We are all wrong, or its probably better to say we can’t really know we are right. We can only acknowledge our feelings and opinions toward these subjects is what is being expressed.

This point of view that most of us cannot grasp the completely grasp the issues 100% seems really reasonable. Am I just as wrong as everybody else for thinking I can know this? Know that we are all are not really correct? It seems kind of intellectually arrogant in itself. This argument potentially could be used just as contemptuously as any right or left wing opinion.

What say y’all?
