Why do we tolerate the sale of Ambassadorships (and other positions)? America is the only major country that allows such blatant rewarding of ones ability to raise funds. I would think that more countries would complain about the insult of an ambassador who often doesn't know the language or culture and merely bought their way to the job? Previously

Sure there are cases where the political appointees have done a good job. That is besides the point. The idea of selling a position is usually met with jail time not with more fundraising. Never understood why we allow it.
