Any bloggers or webmasters noticing an uptick of commenters from similar sources?

I run a small site (which I will not link to, citing Pepsi Blue) that discusses education concerns with a political eye. Recently, I started seeing more commenters under my posts, which caught my attention.

After pulling some data, I've noted that many of these are coming from IP addresses that are similar to one another. If I had to guess, they come from the same 5 or 6 sources. Like, multiple user names are being propagated by the same people.

If you really need to know, yes the comments are right leaning, but peculiarly enough, some of them are left leaning coming from the same sources as the right leaning ones. It's odd, there was one this morning where it's like one guy made a point, then created a username to rebut his point, if only so he can counter that with a snappy comeback.

Is anyone else seeing this, are ISPs masking IP addresses with fake and similarly numbered ones, or could I just be looking at my analysis wrong?
