Girl clothes frustration: So, *did* they invent this layering thing to make more money?
This has been something friends have speculated about for ages, and I'm just getting clothes out for tomorrow and realized that, hey, you know, maybe somebody out there has read something or... something.
It used to be that you bought a shirt. Now, it seems like, women are expected to be wearing at least two shirts at any given point in time. I'm not totally sure that Old Navy sells any women's tops that are actually *opaque* anymore, they've gotten so thin, even in the regular t-shirts. And half of them have necklines that--well, my bras are not that old-ladyish, and they will definitely show if I don't wear something under them. So... who started this so-called trend? Where did this come from? Why do I now own a whole stock of camis in essentially the same colors as my t-shirts just to wear with my t-shirts?
