The best dish of [Insert Country Here] is [Insert Name of Dish Here]
I just got back from Hungary and decided that various Paprikash recipes are going to become staple meals of mine, and I thought I'd love to get a few recipes from every country I visit.
Well, to get a head start, what dishes have you had around the world that you've loved so much, you had to bring them home?
I've started a google spreadsheet that is open to editing (please be kind and only add information; I'll prune it later and I'd rather 10 entries for a given country than just one)
Bonus points for recipes (if you have rated ones, then great, and if not, then bonus points for having made it yourself and liked that recipe!)

This post was deleted for the following reason: jbickers' recent question is covering pretty similar ground, but in any case once you're in "fill out this spreadsheet" territory this isn't really a good fit for AskMe but could probably be turned into an okay submission for Projects if you want to do sort of mefi-community crowdsourcing. -- cortex
Response by poster: I'll take answers here or on the spreadsheet. If the answers are only here, I'll put them up on the spreadsheet.

Response by poster: @babby: Of course! But 2 people arguing about the best dish of [insert country here] will produce at least 2 excellent dishes.

Best answer: I asked a very similar question back in June, and got a lot of great answers.

The best dish of the UK (that is consistently competently replicated up and down the land) is fish and chips. It's really hard to do it well at home though.

great idea.
Best dish of Italy: Olio Carli
Best dish of Greece: Theros
I'm kinda nuts about olive oils, so that's about the best you'll get out of me.
