What's good on TV? (US)

I'd like to watch something new. Anything, as long as it's good. What do you like?

Fringe!!

I just got into it about a month ago, via metafilter. It's fantastic. There are three seasons to catch up on (available on Netflix), but I ended up watching them in three weeks. I've since recommended it to a friend, who is now almost caught up, too. It's incredibly well-written for network TV, with really nuanced characters, a complex, evolving storyline, and talented actors.

If you want comedy, try Outsourced. I hated the first two episodes, but it's really grown on me. It has some surprising, genuine charm.

Nova on PBS is finishing up a 4 part series on "Making Things ..." hosted by NYT Tech Columnist David Pogue. Tonight's edition features "Making Things Smarter". Pogue has a great sense of humor and the topic matter is fascinating glimpse at what's around the corner in our world. I think you can watch the previous 3 programs on the PBS.org website.

Sadly, tonight is the final episode, but Friday Night Lights is a really good show. And I hate football, and still loved the show. All four previous seasons are on DVD, and the fifth and final season comes out in early April - right before NBC airs the final season. So catch up before April, and you'll be ready for season 5. You won't be sorry.
