Sources on Sweden's far right/neo-nazi movement?
January 10, 2011 12:00 AM
Asking for a friend: what books/articles are available in English on the far right/neo-nazi movement in Sweden? (Needed for a review of Stieg Larsson's trilogy.) There's some info online at Searchlight Magazine (for which Larsson was a contributor), but wondering if there's a general history/overview available. Thanks!
You can find some things in english on wikipedia: Sweden Democrats, the navigation template for nationalism and fascism in sweden, which includes, for example: info-14, Part of the Swedes...
A notable event missing from english WP but present on swedish WP is Samemmarschen, which is a yearly provocation/confrontation between neonazis and AFA.

For less analysis and more news you can find some things on TheLocal, but their search isn't ideal, so googling for relevant terms can get you better results: sweden democrats, neo-nazi.

Searching for the right things in google books can also find reasonable sources:

* Radical right: voters and parties in the electoral market By Pippa Norris
* A Swedish dilemma: a liberal European nation's struggle with racism and Xenophobia 1990-2000 By Dennis Sven Nordin

Google scholar gives some additional references:
* Radical Right Populism in Sweden: Still a Failure, But for How Long? also by Jens Rydgren

I also looked for english translations of Larsson's non-fiction books on the right in Sweden, but it doesn't seem like any have been translated.
