Aside from anything written by John Milton, what do you feel is the greatest piece of literary art written in English in the second half of the seventeenth century?
So, yes, aside from anything by Milton, what do you feel is the greatest piece of literary art written in English in the second half of the seventeenth century?
If you feel like it, please do also say a few words about why you feel your chosen work is exceptional (you can provide 1-2 (but no more that 4-5) "personal favorites" if you're not comfortable with the admittedly clunky idea of "great art.").
So few works from this period seem to attract enthusiastic defenders. But perhaps I can find a few today? We'll see, I suppose.
Thanks for any replies.
