how to make people smile
you know, of course, this list could go on forever.....

Basic cooking: How not to starve in your own kitchen.
Basic laundry: But honey, my t-shirts are all blue! All the other guys have pink underwear.
Basic money watching: How to know if you can afford something or not.
How to camp: Pitch a tent, light a fire, and make sure you have enough water and will be warm enough.
How to change the belt on the vacuum cleaner and unplug the hose.
How to change a flat.
How to sew on a button and run a simple seam on a sewing machine.
How to get somewhere using an address and a map.
How to dial a phone with a dial. How to spell out a phone number (it's not the same as texting, you know.)
How to touch type, how to touch ten-key.
How to reset a circuit breaker or replace a fuse-depending on your wiring system.
How to set the table with dishes.

- change a tyre
- tie a few basic knots (enough to tie two ropes together, a rope to a tree, and two posts together at right angles)
- light a fire without firelighters
- basic sewing skills
- basic first aid (DRABCD, ways to immobilise broken limbs, the recovery position, etc.)
- how to cook a few good, cheap, and nutritious meals
- something entertaining, to use when you're around children or with people who don't speak your language (juggling, card tricks, magic, some gymnastics, etc.)
- stop a tap from leaking
