Having an HTS Droid Eris and a 2006 car which knows nothing of bluetooth, have any of you wonderful people found a bluetooth retrofit kit that might do good voice contact recognition or (at minimum) good voice dialling; has a decent speakerphone option; and basically keeps me from having to finger through a lot of comtacts? I'm a former BlackBerry user (alas, let go, no more BB) and would appreciate your experiences. Thanks mind!

there is a voice dialer app for the android os. you should be able to just use any bluetooth earphone and use the handset to voice dial... it's a one touch (well, maybe two) operation.

You shouldn't need an app. If you hold down the search button, it should bring up a voice search thing. Just say, "Call X" and it'll bring up names in your contacts that look like they'd match what you said.

Best answer: Have you seen this motorola bluetooth speakerphone? A few of my friends in CA have them and say that it works really well.

Response by poster: I saw it reddot but didn't know how well it might do the job. Thank you for your reco. Dear others: I've tried the voice dialler and it's crap with car noise, unfortunately.

Best answer: I recently bought the very same Motorola unit you marked as best answer to go with my Moto Droid. It is GREAT! I love it! I found it on clearance for $50 at Walmart last week.
