MetaSearch FAQ?

Meta-search FAQ? is there anything that details the features and operators of MetaFilter's own MetaSearch?

I can't seem to find one... curious if operators such as '+,' '-,' 'and,' even double quotes "query here" ala google work or not. If there's not an FAQ could something easily be tossed together? i'll help in whatever capacity...
