Where can I find an inexpensive men's straw hat like the kind you can find in many Central American markets?

I work professionally outside during the summer and I need a good hat. I also sweat a lot which means I ruin hats quickly. Generally my hat of choice is a straw hat that is something between Amish and Cowboy. My favorite hat of all time was one I purchased in a market in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is the kind worn by Mexican workmen and looked a little like the "cowboy" hat above. It was also really, really cheap (just a few dollars, American, and that was with the tourist price).

I am looking for somewhere to purchase a standard Latin American-workman-like straw hat in the States. So far the closest ones are like the SunBody hats above that are great, but at $30 a little more expensive than ideal. Does anyone have any tips or recommendation?

So far eBay and etsy have not been any help.

I buy mine at the Army surplus store - 3 bucks. Straw cowboy hat, floppy brim. ventilation holes in side. Is this what you are referring to? Try "straw cowboy hat" on google. I found quite a few for under 15 bucks.

My hubby gets his at the local livestock and feed store. Here they're CAL Ranch, RFA Country Stores, and Bass Pro Shops. CAL Ranch had one that he got just this week for $7.99, the one he got from Bass Pro Shops last summer was closer to $30.

Check at the local Mexican groceries/supermarkets. In SoCal I got mine at Vallarta supermarket for something like $6.

Yes, I'd try clothing stores around Latino groceries.

I've seen inexpensive straw cowboy-style hats in Target for $10-15.
