CraigsList ads not showing up.

Why aren't my ads appearing on CraigsList? I've tried posting an ad now 3 times now, following all guidelines. It hasn't been flagged. I can see the ads with a direct link, but it doesn't show up on the site...

The ads I'm posting are for an unpaid writing gig in Los Angeles. The first time I posted, I did so using my CraigsList account, which I've never had a problem with. I followed all steps like usual, and was told the ad was live. Alas, the link for it works, people can use it, but it doesn't show on the site, even through search terms.

A second attempt, with a different computer and network, not logged in, resulted in the same result - the link works, but not appearing to Craiglist browsers.

When I tried to repost the second listing again, I was told a similar ad matched it too much (the one I'd already posted), so wouldn't allow me to post again. In short, the system knows it exists, but it isn't appearing on the site.

A third attempt today, using different language, resulted in the same problem... very frustrating.

BTW, I'm certain these aren't being flagged the moment they go up. Sadly, CraigsList support forums have proven useless.

Here's the ad, in all italics - perhaps its something in the language?:

Do you like the creepy side of L.A.? Ghosts, horror, and Halloween? (Hollywood, all over L.A.)

CreepyLA, the Los Angeles Halloween blog, is looking for writers for its 2009 "holiday season" (September and October).

If you have a love for Halloween, a passion for the macabre, or an interest in the supernatural, we're looking at you! (Literally... we have lizard men staking you out from a nearby gutter - please don't wave or make eye contact, it freaks them out).

Since 2007, CreepyLA has been an online destination for news about Halloween related events, such as yard haunts, professional haunted attractions, and Day of the Dead festivals, along with horror film screenings and fests, tales of local hauntings, and other things to do outside the norm. Featuring an interactive map of over 100 haunted Los Angeles spots, CreepyLA generated over 200,000 page views last October alone.

If you're interested in becoming "one of us" please follow email the following to the above address:

-A link to your blog or other online samples of your writing (if not online, please attach or include in the email). Previous writing experience isn't a necessity, but we want a feel for your style.
-A summary of the kinds of topics you'd like to cover. While we hope everyone can cover a wide variety of subjects, if there's a particular specialty or interest you'd like to focus on, let us know. Maybe you'd like to post a photo a day of neighborhood yard decor, or focus on the history of the occult in L.A., do a series on horror films that take place or have been shot on location in Southern California, or possibly you're a pumpkin carving whiz and you want to share a tip a week with the readers on how to make the perfectly twisted jack-o-lantern.
-How often you believe you can contribute to CreepyLA - ideally, we're hoping for people who can contribute short posts 2 or 3 times per week, but let us know if you can do more or less with some regularity.
-And tell us anything else you think we should know about you that would make you a perfectly spooky addition to the CreepyLA roster.

Note: This is an unpaid gig. However, regular contributors will be able to use their CreepyLA credentials to gain free access to screenings, haunted attractions, and festivals, review copies of books and CDs, and more.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is a bit too self-promotional. -- vacapinta

Did you try waiting a bit (it usually takes a few minutes, up to half an hour or so, in the "for sale" section at least), then refreshing your browser?

Well, if it helps, it does show up in a google search (third result) but I did see that it doesn't show up in the search. Very weird, but you probably shouldn't have posted the content of your ad on the site, it seems too self-linky.

Response by poster: In all occasions I waited more than enough time to check to see if it showed.

I only posted the full content here in case anyone recognized that some of the language may be the cause (but thinking about it, I should have just linked to one of the available ads).

Indeed, weird its popping up via Google, but not in a CraigsList search.
