Can I refinance with bad credit?
Due to a nearly two year illness that left me unable to work enough to cover my expenses, I ended up defaulting on my credit cards and having to work repayment options with on my car and home loans. Those have been straightened out now and I have a lawyer working on the debt collectors but my credit rating is basically crap. At the time I applied for my home loan, I was self-employed and my rate was in the high six percent. Now I have a steady, full-time job that I am not at risk of losing, while still doing a bit of freelancing on the side.
Under Obama's new refinancing measures, can I qualify for refinancing to lower my interest rate?
