Best Rhythm Section in Popular Music History...?

Which rhythm section in the entire history of popular music (rock/r&b and all their offshoots) gets your vote for all-time best? The criteria for judgment are yours to decide. In some cases, rhythm sections will comprise instruments other than bass & drums, as in Metallica, Sly and the Family Stone, or perhaps the Velvet Underground.

Have fun!

This smells like Chatfilter, but the answer is obviously The Funk Brothers.

If you disagree, I will fight you.
