Why are we so blind?

(1) Women should not have the right to vote. (2) African-Americans should not be allowed to sit in the front of the bus. (3) A person shouldn't be allowed to marry someone of the same sex. If we so disagree with (1) and (2), why, why do we not see (3) as a discrimination equally unacceptable? The apparent defeat of California's Proposition 8 saddens me deeply. When will we realize that we as intelligent, moral people are choosing daily to discriminate?
This post was deleted for the following reason: this is not really a question, anyone who doesn't agree with you can't really honestly answer this the way you have framed it. -- jessamyn
This is really political-plea-chatfilter rather than a question with answers.

It's because some people believe that homosexuality is a choice, whereas sex and race aren't. Why that's even relevant is beyond me.

I sympathize with your position, but this question is not-really-answerable chatfilter.
