Multiple Office logins on desktop?

I have two Microsoft 365 accounts and a separate Microsoft Office account on my desktop. I would like to open docs in the M365 accounts in the Desktop version of Word for a more feature-rich environment without having to change the login on my desktop version. Is my only option to download the docs? Details inside.

I have my own personal Office account. I also have two clients that have given me logins on their Microsoft 365 servers. Sometimes, I need to edit documents from one of those clients in the desktop version of Word, because it has a more feature-rich environment. But when I click the "Open in Desktop" option, it then tries to force me to log into my desktop office using that client's login info, which then wipes out my personal login information, preferences, etc.

I would love to have the seamless thing that Microsoft touts, but it seems like my only option is to close the document on Microsoft 365, download a copy, edit it on my desktop (with my personal Office login) and then re-upload to the client's OneDrive. Is that a correct assessment, or is there some sort of a workaround I can't find?

Ask the businesses to share the folders with your personal office account, and open them from there on your desktop rather than trying to open them from a separate set of credentials.

Assuming you are running Windows:
Go to Start Menu > type Access work or school, and from there you can add another Microsoft account.
