Facebook icon removal of crescent moon?

My Facebook profile has a little crescent moon icon next to my name. How can I get rid of this link?

I fon't know what this is but it seems to link to a private email or something. Written by me a long time ago with no recipient. What is this? Is it public? Can I delete it? Cam't find it in settings. Thanks

I seem to remember seeing this icon in the Facebook instant messaging chat system. The crescent moon icon showed up next to people who were online, but inactive (idle), iirc.

Also, old instant messages stay at the bottom of your screen, even if the other person is offline and if you haven't closed the chat box.

Do either of these facts get you any closer to your answer? I can't think why else you'd have the crescent moon icon showing...
