What are the best recent books on emerging infectious diseases?
I recently read The Coming Plague (1994) but the suggestions the author made for handling future public health crises were outdated. Are there any recent books that make practical suggestions for how we should respond to future pandemics?

Laurie Garrett has a more recent book, Betrayal of Trust, which is from 2001. Definitely recommend.
