Flying in from L.A. to attend the Austin City Limits festival, looking forward to it. Anyone out there have any tips/advice that will add to the experience? Thanks!

Don't worry if two of your favorite bands are playing overlapping sets - a lot of the bands are playing shows at non-ACL venues in Austin during the weekend. Check Ticketmaster (and sometimes even the ACL website).

Come to the Austin meetup, if it ever gets organized.

Have fun!

I've been twice, and this is the list of stuff I've found useful, honed over time:

Collapsible chair
The two biggest bottles of water that you are willing to carry
Umbrella, to hide from unrelenting rain or sun
Cash in small bills for beverages
A small, insulated lunch bag with a baggie of ice inside.
A packet of baby wipes cooled in the insulated lunch bag
Sunscreen
Lip balm (with sunscreen)
A small flashlight for after dark, to help avoid potholes and beverage debris, and to signal to your friends when they go to the bathroom
Kleenex
Pain reliever
A towel to smuggle food in
A hat
Binoculars
A brush and extra pony-tail holders

I'm not going this year, which figures because it looks like the weather will be great. Have fun!
