I'd love to find a way for my daughter to meet Jojo Siwa!

It would be a dream come true for my daughter to meet Jojo Siwa. Can you guys help me make that happen?

My 10yr old daughter is a wonderful kid. Diligent in school, kind, friendly, conscientious and brave. She absolutely idolizes Jojo. As a matter of fact, last Saturday she had her 10th birthday sleepover and wanted it to be all Jojo-themed. A friend of hers randomly bumped into Jojo at a theme park nearby us. The friend Facetimed my daughter as she stood in line and met Jojo, and my little girl cried when Jojo waved at the phone and said "Hey!"

For her birthday we got her tickets to see Jojo in concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Is there a way to camp out at the backstage door before or after the show to have her meet her idol face to face? Ive never done anything like that before. Any tips? Before or after the show? Where IS the backstage door, anyway? How do I find out?

If not that show, is there any way to be in the right place, right time (like her friend was) to get the two of them to meet? I love my daughter a TON, and it would be a dream come true for her to even spend 1 minute with Jojo. I'd appreciate any help. If anyone wants to hit me up offsite for some help, please feel free to email me at hammerheadsharkboy@hotmail.com. Thank you so much!

This is primarily done through buying more expensive VIP packages. If you can sell the tickets you have and buy those, that is the easiest path to success.

I know of three ways. One, and most likely, is as k8t pointed out, pay. VIP packages. Two, is through her rep or agent or management team. If you know someone who knows her rep, they could likely arrange a quick hello. Three is as your daughter's friend did, randomly.

Until just now, I had never heard of Jojo (I am old and my kids are in their 20s) She appears young which means that there are going to be layers of adults and other layers of security around her most of the time. If you were able to see her somehow going into the arena, there would be at least two large people with earpieces on either side of her as she went from vehicle to door. But there is no backstage door. (See below)

I would pay up for the VIP package. I have friends high up in the music business and there are certain performers I would love to meet that I know I will never do so. Even though I know their 'people'. Having said that, I would still also try through her agent. I was able to arrange for a friend's two teen daughters to meet Dave Matthews because I knew his management team at Red Light. (We met him at the after party at a show in Florida. Dave was extremely gracious, age appropriate and patient. He went from doing shots of tequila with me and my buddy to talking to these two girls about being in 7th grade like a switch was flipped. Whatever you think of DMB music, know Dave is a good man.) If the VIP tour includes a meet and greet, it will happen. Probably get to shake her hand and take a selfie with her.

I looked quickly and could not see who Jojo's agent is. If you are in California and near LA, I would bet that her agent or management company is in LA.

As for randomly, you can improve your odds if you know what Jojo likes or does or who she practices with, etc. Find out what studio she practices her dancing at and wait outside that door. Find out if she plans to do any smaller shows. It is much easier to meet someone at a 1,200 seat theater than a 15,000 seat arena.

As for backstage door, that is more of a myth. I do not know the Honda in Anaheim, but I have been 'backstage' at at least 15 shows, and most of the time you either drive right into the loading dock area and are never outside or near a door or you go in the press gate and end up going through several series of doors and corridors before you end up in the restricted area behind the stage. Even being 'backstage' does not mean you will be anywhere near the artists. Most of the artists have their own dressing rooms that are off limits to anyone but a handful of people with the proper credentials.

Also, pre show, they are either resting, practicing or doing the soundcheck. Time to meet and greet is limited. Of the 15 or so times I have been backstage, only twice did I see or talk to the so called star performer. (Trey Anastasio and Bob Weir. Both times I got the quick, hey, how are you doing before they moved on. 10 seconds at most.)

tl;dr: k8t is right, best way is to pay to play.
