Mac friendly GPS software?

We've all been warned not to hold our breath waiting for an OSX version of Garmin Mapsource. Soooooo, can anyone recommend some Mac-friendly GPS software?

I'm not looking for route planning software - 99% of the time I use my GPS is for logging road bike/mtb data, saving routes and looking at elevation profiles. Topo maps would be nice.I'd even consider some fancy-schmancy web 2.0/ajax/googlemaps/whatever application.

I know nothing about it -- someone I know wrote it -- but gpsy might be helpful.

This came up on The Map Room last month (self-link); the answers in the comments might be useful.
