Keeping hyperlinks when saving Word docs as PDF

Losing my hyperlinks when I save Word 2007 documents as PDF.

I'd like to save my word documents (with hyperlinks) as a PDF and keep the hyperlinks still active. At this moment, I save the Word as PDF and the words *look* like they are hyperlinked, but they are not.

I'm sure there's a ridiculously simple way to do this. What is it?

Open your document in Open Office. Export PDF.

Are you using the Save As menu, or are you printing to PDF? If you Save As a PDF, you should be able to click on hyperlinks from Word 2007 to Adobe Acrobat.

  • Go to Adobe PDF -> Change Conversion Settings...
  • When Acrobat PDFMaker dialog appears, go to the first tab "Settings"
  • Under Application Settings, check the box that says "Add links to Adobe PDF"
  • Click OK and try it

Response by poster: unixrat's suggestion about Open Office worked.

Xingcat, I was saving it as a PDF but was somehow unable to keep my hyperlinks

    koeselitz, your suggestion also worked.
    Thanks,all!
