What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

An ill-advised account name made years ago as a test. I kept trying to submit the form, but it didn't work, so out of frustration I just typed in "abcde" for the name and password. That was the one try that succeeded, naturally. When I rediscovered MeFi back when registrations were closed, this was the only account I had. I usually go by Metaxy.

As of December '08, since Matt continues to refuse to change the name (rightly), I've decided that it's pronounced "abode."
