What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

An old friend of mine used to refer to the (supposed) guiding principle behind everything as The Grand Wahzoo. Always thought that was funny. Sometimes I feel a need for a privacy mask on the net, and that's my 'funny mask'.

I "first started using the internet" on a C64 right after they came out ('85?), on a 300 baud modem to dial up the UMass mainframe and turn in my Pascal homework. Then I got into BBSs, Compuserve, and whatever AOL was in those daze. I got into what we now call the web when Mosaic came out. My first self-published web site was started in 95. I've done several sites for other people over the years. Finally got into blogging in April 2003.
