Picky Crime Podcast Suggestions

I have listened to all 169 episodes of True Crime Conversation. I am struggling to find other crime podcasts in the apparently only format I like: one host, talking to one guest, and the whole crime covered in one episode.

I don't hate True Crime Daily but I don't like the multiple cases per episode format. Minds of Madness is read by a host with an annoying voice. Others sound like bros talking about dead chicks at a bar.

Suggestions anyone? Thank you.

Criminal?

There is sometimes more than one guest, but not at the same time, that I can remember.

If you don't mind cyber crime, Darknet Diaries fits the bill. I'm a small patreon supporter for years now.

More cyber, but Malicious Life is good to excellent.

Criminal definitely works. Since you mentioned that you find annoying voices annoying, I’d caution you that the host has an idiosyncratic delivery but it can absolutely grow on you, if you let it. She has, I think, changed certain verbal habits based on listener feedback and recent episodes contain fewer oddities. It is a very polished performance overall. I’m finding it difficult to describe. I just really want you to stick with it and not be immediately turned off.

FBI Retired Case File miiiight appeal to you. It’s the format you’re looking for, but her coverage focuses more on organized crime, bank robberies, etc. than the type of things you normally hear about in “traditional” true crime coverage (i.e. murders). That said, it’s usually really interesting so worth a shot.

Wow, I’ve been a long time listener and I’ve found her voice to be fantastic? I’m puzzled what would be considered idiosyncratic about it, but I can’t say I’ve ever read what others might be saying.
