Paint sprayer question

I have a Wagner Flexio 3000. I cannot, for the life of me, remove the reservoir.

I have not had this issue before. I am not using a liner, which makes me incredibly nervous and maybe that’s how I’ve screwed up. I have tried using my hands, a mallet, a Wunderbar, a screwdriver. I am super frustrated and the helpline is 0800-1630 Central time Mon-Fri, because of course it is. I need to figure this out tonight because I have to work tomorrow and won’t be able to work with it. This piece of equipment is $170 and I don’t have that laying around while I’m trying to do these home renovations. Any help is appreciated, but I have no idea why I was able to unscrew it earlier this evening to add paint and now I cannot. Yes I have made sure there isn’t pressure on the system.

Response by poster: Update: I called a neighbor and we brute forced it. But dear God I don’t want this to happen again. I will still take any tips.

Get yourself a strap wrench.

I used to use PTFE Thread Seal Tape, messy stuff and a bit fiddly but it saved time and hassle. Also a suitable hard bristle brush when you clean everything to get any odd bits of paint out of threads.
