Weather and Trail Conditions in Manning Park (British Columbia)

Our friend is missing since Friday, after a solo hike. Are there Mefites out there who can give some info on: - Weather/trail conditions (time & location) in any of the hiking areas in Manning Park? - Time/place you may have seen a 25 y/o male, solo hiker, wearing black pants and an orange rain jacket, with a 60 l olive green camping backpack on any of the trails. More info & pics here (CBC).

I know you all have come through before, so it's worth a shot.
If you know anything at all that could help Search & Rescue teams narrow down/target the searches, PLEASE call Vancouver PD: +1-604-717-3321.
Thank you!!

Response by poster: Posted this so quickly I didn't specify: We're asking specifically for weather conditions LAST WEEKEND, as Jordan went missing on Friday.

I was there the weekend of October 3/4. It was sunny and bright, but I’ve heard anecdotally it’s been snowy since then.

I see someone has already posted on the site I'm about to link, but just in case it wasn't anyone related you should be aware that there are various tracks on Alltrails relevant page showing that various people hiked the trail that weekend.

It's been snowing off and on since Tuesday. There isn't any snow on the ground in the pass but it is accumulating not all that high past that.

Have you contacted the Resort? I assume S&R would have but they run both the commercial operations and all the park functions (aside from the part time ranger). They'll be able to tell you much more specifically what weather was like not only in the valley but on specific trails.

Do you know what trail your friend was hiking?

NVM, I see from your link that S&R is all over it. There isn't all that much trail in Manning (I mean there is a lot of kilometerage but it's pretty linear, there isn't a dizzying array of branching). S&R will find him if he's on a trail as they'll be able to traverse the whole network fairly quickly.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone! Thiamat: great resource, thanks! It turns out my peeps have already been posting on Alltrails, and made a call for info there on Tuesday already. May be worth updating, if not done yet.

My friends drove to Manning on Tuesday and they've been trying to gather some intel to help SAR narrow down the search, and any info about specific trails at specific times of the weekend are incredibly useful to them. As well as any sightings of Jordan during the weekend (or since).

His car was found at the Frosty Mountain trail head. I have hiked that trail and taken scouts up it. It is a relatively popular 'technical' climb, and for anybody who isn't familiar with coastal mountains or the rockies will find it very difficult, especially in snow or rain. I just looked it up cause it's been years - the hike is a 27 km (16 mi) loop with significant elevation gain - almost 2.5 km.
