Non-Racist Halloween Costumes

For a white person, is Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy an acceptable Halloween costume?

Gamora from GOTG is a green-skinned alien... but she is played in the movies by Zoe Saldana, a woman of color. Would it be racist for a white person to dress up as Gamora for Halloween?

I generally lean towards "not racist" unless it's blatantly problematic, but this is super not racist.

She's a comic book and sci fi movie heroine! Go for it

Are you dressing up as Gamora or as Zoe Saldana playing Gamora?

Nah she's green. Green is ok. If you want to be super safe dress up as comics Gamora- slightly different look, still badass.

Well Zehoberei is a fictional race so I don't see why not.

The fact that the actress who played her is a woman of color is immaterial. The character herself is not from a real race where depicting them might be racist. Go right ahead.
