Sir Tiger and Queen Ingeborg

In Copenhagen, I found a postcard with pictures of two cats. What's the story here?

Front side of postcard: Two photos of cats. On the left, a ginger cat with green eyes. On the right, an older black-and-white photograph of a cat, with eyes colourised green.

On the back: the caption "Sir Tiger & Queen Ingeborg", with no further explanation. Some details about the postcard designer/company, but I thoughtlessly cut it off in my photo.

The postcard was in a souvenir shop in Tivoli theme park, which had a variety of tourist items - so it could be Tivoli-related, or more generally related to Copenhagen or Denmark. There was a whole stack of the cat cards. Google has revealed nothing to me.

Are you still in Denmark? Can you show it around to people and ask? Could end up being fun.

Response by poster: Sadly, I'm no longer in Denmark, nor did I buy the postcard (though I would have done, if I had known how much the mystery of it would nag at me).

Do you have a photo where the postcard company's email address is visible? It's so tantalizing: h@something...

Best answer: ...it's gotta be the Harlekin Tivoli souvenir shop's email address, h@rlekin.dk. You might as well email them and see what they have to say about Tiger and Ingeborg!

Harlekin's instagram has a lot of pictures of a shop cat named Obama. Maybe they have a tradition of shop cats named for nobility and heads of state!

Did you ever hear back from Harlekin about Sir Tiger and Queen Ingeborg?

I’ve been following their Instagram ever since, partly to practice my danish and partly hoping to see pictures of their cat.
