What TV show?

What TV show am I thinking of, and what is the context? Towards the end of the season, a person who just committed a serious crime (I think either a shooting or a murder) is released from custody after a mysterious old woman (a mother? aunt?) comes to town and posts bail. My Google-fu is failing me. I think it's Justified, but I can't find any confirmation and I can't place the character who was released or the context.
