Pregnant Ladies! When you go you shopping, or running errands, or to the restaurant, what are things you wish you could bring with you but you can't, as far as personal items? what is your fantasy public bathroom stocked with?

I help run a maternity store and i want to put a table full of things in our bathroom for our customers to make their experience more enjoyable. we already offer water and free snacks. thanks for your ideas!

Wet wipes. Nothing with strong fragrances (lotions, air fresheners etc). Smelly stuff made me all urpy.

I carry a large purse, so there (from my end) wasn't anything I couldn't fit in there.

The thing I LOVED about our local maternity store was the bathroom. The public restrooms and their smell was to much for my sensitive pregnant stomach. It would make me dry heave or even vomit going into one. I found out they had a bathroom that only pregnant ladies used and I was estatic. It didn't smell, it was clean and they always had hand soap.

So my two cents: offering a smell free or pleasent smelling bathroom was a BIG plus. It made me a return costumer for both my pregnancies.

Pantiliners. Because, well, we know why. Also, nursing nipple pads, if you have postpartum customers.

Seconding nursing pads and panty liners. Also unscented hand cream. Maybe some mints or gum in case of a need to freshen up post-morning-sickness. And a change table, 'cause nothing is less fun than changing your toddler on the floor of a bathroom at 8 months pregnant.

those little packets of lemon juice (for the water) I am 6 1/2 months prego and get so excited when places have those. the lemon helps me drink more water and combat morning sickness. How about those Prego Pops or Ginger candies for morning sickness? Snacks, like little bags of chips or crackers? fruit? okay so maybe I am a but food focused...but you asked! those Prego Pops or Ginger candies for morning sickness? Snacks that are low in carbohydrates for those who have gestational diabetes? Nuts would probably be the easiest no-refrigeration choice.

Well, in terms of the actual bathroom for bathroom purposes:

Wider than average stalls are nice (and this is probably for future thinking).
High quality toilet paper.
Comfy chairs. Super duper comfy chairs to sit in while waiting.
Sinks that are a little smaller so the belleh doesn't bump into it when washing hands. This is one of the most irksome things I hate about using a public bathroom eight months pregnant.

For the table:
A printout of area resources, or business cards of those serving the pregnant community (LCs, prenatal massage therapists, mental health therapists who specialize in PPD, support groups, parental hot lines, doula information, etc.)

How about shoe insoles?

Comfy chairs. I spent more time than I should have (as far as physical exertion) at the mall this past Saturday, and every time I looked for somewhere to sit down, all I saw was the wooden benches. I saw the cushioned chairs occupied by others and wanted to scream "I'm pregnant, get out of that damn chair and let me sit!"...alas, I just kept moving until I couldn't stand on my feet anymore.

Keep a cache of those single-use Wisp toothbrushes around. Not being able to brush your teeth after you barf is AWFUL.

For the water. Big cups, or bottles.

A fainting couch, or whatever they call them. Sometimes you have to just sit down.

And yes, pantiliners. And possibly a secret cache of Poise pads or heavier-duty pads, just in case someone has an issue more than a pantiliner can manage.

But please don't put out those pamphlets for cord blood banking. Those irk me.

Mount the stall doors so they open out. It's a PITA to try to get around the door inside the stall when you're huge.

Some where to sit for a minute is major. I get tired so fast when out shopping. I especially appreciate when fitting rooms have a chair or bench for me to sit while I try on clothes.
Lack of smells is also very important. And cold filtered water to drink I randomly just get so thirsty and being able to have something that doesn't taste like tap water would be very nice indeed.
Also a bag check so I don't have to lug my purse/shopping bags around the store.

Gah! I missed the fact that this was just for the bathroom. I blame pregnancy brain!

When I was pregnant, I received a goody bag that included individually-wrapped packages of Preparation H cream for hemorrhoids. Maybe you could have some for pregnant women prone to hemorrhoids.

Crackers, or ginger candy for those still dealing with morning sickness.
