Suggestions for a the best erotic/adult comics & comic-creators?

I'm looking to expand my collection of comics/graphic novels, particularly in the adult/erotic/porn area. I have Alan Moore's massive Lost Girls, but that's about it.

I'm looking for works that are both well-done (writing and art-wise) and arousing. They can be funny, dramatic, scary, whatever -- genre is not important. Also, straight, gay, whatever is fine -- the only thing I'm not really interested in collecting is tentacle-porn (unless it is really, really good tentacle-porn). Any era, any country of origin.

So: suggestions for books, writers, creators, etc?

Try Milo Manara. An example of his work, obviously NSFW.

Guido Crepax.

Is not erotic, but I enjoyed girls.
The egg-laying sounds like japanese alternative hentai, but is more like they are born from cocoons, instead of the idea of a woman laying a giant egg.

"It tells the story of the people of Pennystown, a community of 63 who are cut off from the rest of the world and attacked by a group of naked, flesh eating, egg-laying women, as well as other bizarre dangers. "

Brightest is a dramatic strip about a girl who is pulling herself out of a loser mentality (she's fat, unemployed, broke, with a lame ex-boyfriend she can't quite get over), and redefines herself as a winner (gorgeous, desirable, rubinesque lesbian with friends and a future).

The path isn't smooth. The sex isn't the biggest part of her life, but it's a real big part - just like IRL.

Maybe not quite as erotically slanted as you are looking for, but the storylines and art are wonderful.

Seconding Crepax & Minera, and adding Richard Corben. Honestly, you can't go wrong with trying to track down old Heavy Metal mags from the 70's and 80's with stuff by those guys.

I've heard Omaha The Cat Dancer mentioned as an example of a good erotic comic, too, though I have personally have never read it myself.

some names that come to mind
Roberto Baldazzini
Franco Saudelli
Giovanna Casotto
some Silvio Cadelo
Trevor Brown

Blue was a well-edited erotic comic magazine from Coniglio Editore.

I enjoyed Foglio's XXXenophile. When it wasn't arousing it was still amusing. It's all short-form vignette so if you're looking for longer narrative it won't meet your criteria.

Small Favors!

Maka-Maka is a good yuri (girl+girl) manga, no 13 year-olds or tentacles.

I liked Lust: Kinky Online Personal Ads from Seattle's The Stranger. It's not a porn story, but one-page drawings inspired in kinky personal ads, the art is really good.

Omaha was pretty darn good erotic/adult comic, though it probably went on just a little too long (i.e. story-wander) Caveat: It's furries. Omaha is, literally, a cat.

Bondage Fairies.

If it matters to you, Bondage Fairies (unsurprisingly) is sometimes a little borderline if you're uncomfortable with issues of duress. It's light-hearted stuff but I can remember at least one story line in particular where one of the characters has an encounter she hasn't initially consented to.

Molly Kiely is one of my favorites.

Among French artists, there's about anything by Georges Pichard. (And plenty of erotic bits in good stories; the first book of le Cycle de Cyann is particularly rich in these.)

Also: Ralf König, Germany's gay comics phenom (and a hilarious writer).
