Voice coach in Eugene, Oregon?

Voice coach in Eugene, Oregon? I've done some searching and have a couple of names, but I'm wondering if anyone can personally recommend a voice teacher in Eugene. I'm considering giving a gift of a series of lessons for an aspiring female pop/jazz singer who has never had formal training.

I don't have any local recs for you, but on the recommendation of this comment I bought the book and CD set in question (Vocal Workouts for the Contemporary Singer, by Anne Peckham).

I haven't actually delved into it, because I mostly sing classical stuff (and infrequently :P), but the pedigree looks very good, and as I looked through it I thought the method looked pretty fun. She uses some songs that she's created herself to teach the specific techniques, so they address the subject while helping you feel like you're actually singing something, not just doing scales and exercises.

If your recipient is self-motivated, and picks up on things by ear, perhaps this might be an option. Hope this helps!

I do not know of anyone in Eugene. I know a good person in Tualatin. . .

However, if you contact the Eugene Concert Choir, you can maybe get a few names. Lotsa good singers in this choir.

Have you checked with the UO School of Music? The profs there sometimes take private (non-university) students as well, or can recommend good voice instructors. Milagro Vargas is amazing.
