I'll be in Nashville Wednesday and Thursday next week with some colleagues for work. We'll be very busy during daytime hours, but if there's time in the evenings we'd like to see some live music at whatever bars, pubs, or other venues are easy to drop-in. I don't know how late the nightlife goes on weekdays, but later is definitely better for us schedule-wise. So what would be some good places to check out? Being Nashville, we mostly have in mind country, bluegrass, and folk but any genre is fine.

Three adults (all in the "mature" demographic) going to be in Nashville from April 17 - 21. We're staying close to downtown, with a car. Already have tickets for Grand Old Opry, so what else would folks recommend. Maybe a Sunday brunch place? Going to get hot chicken, of course.

This is a long shot, but here goes - I'm trying to come up with evening entertainment suitable for visiting children ages 5-10, here in Nashville (tonight and tomorrow), and I see that the Sounds are putting on a fireworks display (presumably at LP Field). Does anyone know of a good viewing spot that would be comfortable for children? The likeliest spots are downtown in the midst of all the adult honkytonk. Maybe Riverfront Park or the pedestrian bridge, but it would be nice to have a kid-friendly strategy, rather than experimenting with them in tow. Suggestions handy to the Art Crawl on 5th would be especially valuable, as would any other after-dinner ideas.

I'm looking to do a mini road trip to Nashville from Aug. 2nd-4th and drive through Mammoth Cave on my way home on the 4th. I want to maximize awesomeness while minimizing cost. I'm pretty open in terms of ideas, but I like museums, music, and antiques, and I plan to at least do one of the tours of Mammoth Cave when I get there. I will have camping equipment with me but I'd prefer to have shower facilities while in Nashville. Any suggestions? Things to see? Free attractions? Ways to save money (especially on food)? Favorite Mammoth Cave tour?
