My son is off to college next year, so am wanting to have a father/son road trip in the spring. We've both thoroughly enjoyed Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, so I thought travel to Albuquerque (from WI) would be fun. Tips? [more inside]

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get from Popejoy Hall to the airport after a Saturday matinee, but I will probably need to go to my hotel to pick up luggage on the way. Never lived outside of California, but here I am moving to Albuquerque in a few weeks... I've visited a few times and like it enough there to be happy about the move (I'll be a grad student at UNM, living in a studio apartment north of campus), but what can I expect as far as actually living there goes? What are the people like? The climate? The culture? Any New Mexican MeFites willing to give me their views and advice about the place?
