Looking on behalf of a small group who will be on foot near Old Market and don't want to deal with dudebro sports bars. Where's a good place to wear blue and cheer?
I am planning to be in Nebraska or Missouri for the eclipse. There are a number of places I could go that have festivals, fields you can pay to park in, etc. What are the chances of just randomly finding a place off a rural road where I can park, throw my camping chair on the nearby grass, pop open the cooler, and enjoy the day in peace away from people and traffic? We are considering taking a road trip to Grand Island, Nebraska in August to see the solar eclipse. We need to decide now to schedule work vacations. Can anyone recommend places to stay or eat in the area? Are there any good attractions? What about things to do or see on the drive from the Twin Cities area? We know the Omaha Zoo is one of the best in the country. Is there anywhere else we should plan on stopping?

An older relative is visiting in November and we are planning to go on a weekend road trip, most likely around Maine, VT, and NH, states she hasn't yet visited. She can't walk a lot but won't have a wheelchair, so even house tours may be tough. Looking for seated or low-mobility sightseeing ideas. [more inside]

I'm bringing a car to Omaha in very late June, early July. Dates are flexible. We're planning to take 2-3 days of driving split between two people. What are the best routes in terms of scenery and attractions to do overnight along the way? We are staying for about a week and flying back one-way to PHL. Ideas for what to do in Omaha are also needed. At least some of the activities in or around Omaha should be suitable for people under 21, although they don't all have to be. Museums, parks, sciency stuff, and hotel and restaurant recommendations all welcome. Assume an upper limit of $200 per person per day for 2-3 people, although this is fairly flexible both directions.

We (two adults and a 3 year old) are planning a trip to Omaha zoo. The main question I have is regarding the rides (train/tram). Is it similar to what they have in some national parks, where you can ride between locations (and get on/off as you please) instead of walking? or is it just one big ride through the zoo? Any other info on the zoo or good restaurants for dinner in Omaha appreciated.

This weekend, a friend and I are going to spend 48 hours visiting Des Moines (Iowa), Omaha (Nebraska) and the places in-between. Do you have any recommendations for events this weekend we shouldn't miss? Or spots to visit? And any recommendation for the best steak restaurant along the route? Thanks!

In Omaha (from NYC) for a day and a half. I am looking for fun things to do. I like thrift stores, eccentric shops, indy fashion, tool hunting, history, and good food. Any suggestions?

I've traveled through the Nebraska panhandle three times this summer, and each time my cell phone clock jumped two hours ahead of what it should have said (to the equivalent of Eastern Time). Can you explain it? [more inside]

Omaha Running Filter: I'll be in Omaha on business next week for my first visit. I'm training for a half-marathon and would like recommendations for a 3-5 mile run originating in the downtown area. Bonus points for a course that takes me into Council Bluffs. [more inside]

Help me find a nice mom&pop motel on I-80 between North Platt and Grand Island, NE. This should be nice enough to not go "eww" at the bathroom, but less than $70. It'll be me, the mrs and three little ones.
