Any suggestions on what to do outside the secure area of the Charlotte airport? I'd go to the whitewater center nearby, but I think it closes in an hour from now. I'm waiting for a relative to pick me up Relevant: I have a camera and enjoy photography.

How could you find a building when all you know about it is what it looks like from above and roughly where it is (with a large margin of error, giving a triangle with an area of about 1,900 square miles)? Is there any tool/database/search that might help with this, or would finding it be a matter of putting the question to people who live in the area (or, for the less social, strictly a brute-force problem)? Yellowjackets attacked us on a not-that-remote part of the Appalachian Trail yesterday at 5 PM, and had attacked others earlier. Should I tell someone? Going to Nag's Head for a little family R&R. I haven't driven down there in 8 years and looking for some advice. Leaving from SE Mass area at 10PM on Friday and hope to get in around noon on Saturday. Taking 95 south through CT, 1st decision: GW or Tappan Zee? We will be hitting them around 1AM. After that the question is: I95 all the way around DC, or Rt 13 South through DE & MD? Has anyone made the trip lately or know of any major construction projects going on that would cause big delays? Normally I go the Rt13 but is there a problem with one of the bridges in DE? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

East Coast Road Trip-Filter: a friend is having a very rough year but is finally taking three days (Aug. 24th - 26th) for much-needed road trip. She may not get to take another one for a while, so we want to make the most of it. My question: what can you recommend within a ~400-mile radius of Philadelphia (places, activities, events, gatherings, WHATEVER) that might be mind-blowingly memorable? The kinda stuff that makes you blurt, "Holy CRAP, this is AMAZING!"... the kinda stuff she and I can enthusiastically reminisce about for years to come. [more inside]

The boardwalk on Rehoboth Beach, Del. is my idea of heaven: arcades, pizza places, and mini golf all within walking distance, and right on top of a beautiful beach. Is there anything like that (even at a smaller scale) in the Outer Banks? [more inside]
