Where to park a moving van overnight in Cambridge or Somerville, MA

My wife and I are currently driving a moving truck to the Boston area. We were supposed to arrive at a storage facility to unload some things by 6pm and return the truck to Uhaul this evening, but we won't make it to the storage facility in time. So now we need a place to park the 15' truck overnight. Does anyone know who can take our money and let us do this in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area tonight? [more inside]

How to Get a Computer to Someone in Boston, with Difficulties

Someone close to me has found himself in a psych ward at Massachusetts General in Boston, without a working smart phone or computer. If they decide not to let him out soon, I may need to get him a computer, or some other way of doing his student assignments. However, apparently I can't send him anything c/o the hospital. What should I do in greater Boston for the next 48 hours?

I came back to take care of some personal stuff in New England this week, but it's all already done! So outside of a couple evenings and dinners with family and friends, I have the next few days free. I have some money and some time and a rental car - what adventures do you recommend?

Because no airline flies nonstop from BNA to PVG.

Thanks to some super cheap plane tickets, I'm traveling alone next week, departing from BNA and flying to BOS. Is 2.5 hours enough time to get onto an international flight to PVG in Terminal E on Tuesday at Boston Logan airport? Will 3.5 hours be enough time coming back? Do I have enough time to munch on a Lobster Roll at BOS? Semi-special snowflake: I've got 2 separate itineraries, and still debating whether I want to check in luggage. [more inside]

Christmas Sights and Doin's in Boston

My family will be joining me in the Boston area for Christmas this year, for the first time, for only a few days surrounding the 25th. If we were in NYC, near where I grew up, I'd know exactly what to do - see the windows, Rockefeller Ctr, St. Patrick's, the Grand Central train show...but I don't know what the Boston equivalents of these sightseeing traditions are. One caveat: Boston seems big on performing arts events for the holidays, and we probably aren't going to be able to coordinate schedules for ticketed events. I'm looking for things you can just drop in to. [more inside]

What's the least stressful way to get from Western Mass to Boston?

Tomorrow I have a meeting on Beacon St. in the mid-afternoon. I'm coming from Western Mass. I have a car and I'm happy to drive most of the way but I really hate and fear driving in downtown Boston. What are my best options for avoiding that? I'm looking for good park-and-ride locations, mostly, preferrably cheap, that I can take the T from.

My good friend is getting married. We the 5 groomsmen are between 25 and 35. The groom likes Disney, cars, hiking, and other forms of clean fun. If we had an entire Saturday (night included) what could we do within 3 hours of Boston in early November?

Should I take my sprained ankle and little kid to Boston next week?

Plans were made long ago for my almost-four year old child and myself to follow my husband to Boston while he presents a paper at a meeting. We intended to stay at the hotel with him and sightsee while he attends meetings all day for several days. Unfortunately, I sprained my ankle three weeks ago and am still on crutches with a CAM/ walking boot. [more inside]
