Dog friendly restaurants in Denver?

We will be driving through Denver en route to Breckenridge Saturday night. We'd like to stop for dinner, but we'll have our 15 lb. terrier mutt with us. Where should we stop? [more inside]

Things to do in Denver when you're Married

My partner and I will be taking advantage of Colorado's unique self-solemnizing law, which allows couples to marry themselves (no city official or pastor or even witnesses required.) That means we can create a meaningful marriage ceremony that appeals to us and only us. Thing is, we're from the midwest and need some ideas of great places to wed in Denver. No traditional wedding spots needed. We like hiking and legal marijuana smoking. Difficulty level: we want to do outdoorsy things in winter or early spring. We also enjoy arts and culture events or sites. We need your amazing ideas please. [more inside]

Things to do in Denver

My partner and I are visiting Denver next week! Can you offer recommendations for places we should visit or advice on things we should look out for while we're in town, keeping in mind we are evaluating it as a potential place to live? (Bonus if you have queer culture recommendations!) [more inside]

Afternoon in Denver with a car

I'm arriving at Denver airport just after 11 am on a Saturday, hiring a car at the airport and then planning to stay in Grand Lake for a few days after that. Is it worth spending the Saturday afternoon checking out Denver rather than heading straight for Grand Lake? If so, how should I do this? [more inside]

Indulgent Getaway near Denver in May

A girlfriend and I are meeting up with our awesome friend in Denver the first weekend in May (1-4). She's recently moved there so isn't super familiar with the area, and only has one bedroom-so we'd love to find someplace relatively close where we can relax and indulge-hotel or VRBO or ? Oh, and must allow her small, well-behaved dog. [more inside]

Buddy trip things to do - Georgia/Alabama/Tennessee

I am meeting up for a weekend with some guys from college (all in our 30s) and looking for a good spot to meet up/things to do. We all live in the southeast and it would be good to find something in between Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga. Obviously we could stay in the one of those cities and there would be a lot to do, but I am curious if there are some hidden gems or fun places outside of the cities. Thanks in advance!

Keystone → UC Denver morning of 3 April

I need to go from Keystone to the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus the morning of 3 April 2015. So far, my best option seems to be to take an early morning Colorado Mountain Express shuttle to Denver International Airport, and then take a taxi to UC Denver. The first CME shuttle that goes directly downtown doesn't arrive until 12:30 p.m. I don't want to rent a car. Are there better options?

Alternative comic shops in Denver?

We will be traveling to Denver later this month and would really like to check out some alternative comic shops, if there are any! A Google search turns up general comic shops, but results on alt comic, zine-y shops are few. Any tips on some cool places would be great! Thinking along the lines of Oily comics, etc.

Where to stash a car for a couple of weeks near downtown Denver?

We are on a roadtrip in Colorado and want to stay in downtown Denver for 1-2 weeks. We don't envision needing our car during our stay and wish to avoid the expensive parking options in downtown. Is there a good place to stash our car in the Denver area that is safe and inexpensive ($7/day or less) and readily accessible from downtown by public transportation? Any specific parking lot recommendations are welcome.

Last minute trip to Denver - good day hikes?

Can anyone recommend some good day, well to moderate marked hikes around the Denver area for next weekend? We would prefer some moderate to tough trails and are already planning on the Mt. Evans drive but would really like to get out a bit more.

Things to do in Denver with your kids?

Planning a summer road trip with the little fergs (ages 6 & 8) in June involving a couple of nights in Denver, a few days camping at Rocky Mountain National Park, and probably a night/day in Fort Collins or Estes Park. What are the must-see/must-do, uniquely "Colorado" activities for a nerdy, music- and nature-loving family in Denver? [more inside]

Things to do in Denver when it's cold?

Besides skiing, of course. I think myself and Ms Jo will be in Denver area for 4 days or so within the next two weeks. We may ski one day, but prefer just being out of doors and walking and hiking. Is this too crazy given the season? I would love to go to a hot springs but the closest one looks kinda cheesy/expensive. We will have a car. I like beer. Suggestions for activities and accommodations are welcome. Basically, I am looking for a non-ski reason to go Denver area this month for 3 or 4 days. If the answer is to come back later (during brew fest and better hiking weather, so be it).

What is there fun to do in Denver?

My old college roommate and I are taking a road trip out to Denver next week because he hasn't seen it and he wants to go. I've been to Denver on and off, but I don't know what there really is fun to do in the city and surrounding area, other than what's on wikipedia. Does anyone have any personal experience on cool things to do on a one week trip?

Help me plan a surreal vacation

I'm visiting Denver later this month and am curious about what the city has to offer that is unique and offbeat in a specific way. I like the kitschy/cheesy, I love the weird/slightly spooky. My best trips to strange cities have involved: antique fairs and curio shops, museums centered around one niche concept, rambly old graveyards, outsider art in all forms, graffitied ruins and abandoned spaces, anything historical that focuses on the everyday experiences of common people. Denver, Estes Park, Red Rocks - and no car!

My girlfriend and I are visiting Denver in mid-June for five days, primarily to see Devotchka to play at Red Rocks - but we're keen to do a bit of sightseeing as well. Our current plan is to go straight from DIA to Estes Park via shuttle bus, stay there for a couple of days, do some hikes, etc, then (somehow?!) get to Downtown Denver. We'd drop our bags there, get a taxi (or similar) to Red Rocks and back for the concert, and then head to DIA. Hiring a car isn't an option... does this sound sane? [more inside]

What can I expect from a gay rodeo?

I'm planning on being in Denver at the same time as the annual gay rodeo there (Rocky Mountain Regional Rodeo). I'm wondering what to expect from the event and whether it's worth taking the time and effort to attend. Looks like gay cowboys have better things to do with their time than create pretty websites for tourists so can you help me figure it out please? [more inside]
