Can I See Half Dome From The House?....
I waited too long to try to book my trip to the Yosemite area, and now the only accommodations I can find are in places that are 90 minutes' drive from Yosemite Valley. Is that going to suck? Should I give up and go somewhere else instead? [more inside]

Can you drive into Yosemite Valley at night?
We're hoping to drive to Yosemite tomorrow night, will be arriving at the South gate around 11pm. I've been searching the website for the gate hours, but can't find any. Will we be able to get in at the South gate (or any other gates) that late?

No Room Under The Stars
Combination astronomy/National Parks filter: Okay, I can't stay IN Yosemite Park in August, but I can stay near it. Can I still enter the park at 3 am to watch the Perseids? Or: what's another good but possibly lesser-known national park where I can stay and watch? [more inside]
