best Uber alternatives in Paris
Colleague and I will need to travel short distances around central Paris with bulky video equipment. Walking or public transport is normally fine, but not really with the gear we’ll be schlepping this time. There are bound to be situations when waiting at a taxi rank or taking a chance at hailing won't be ideal. I’ve used Uber previously but am curious about other app-based services in Paris. For example, is G7 reliable? I realize calling for a cab is also a possibility, but sometimes it’s just easier and quicker to use an app. [more inside]

An American teenager in Paris.
Where in Paris might a bright, queer, nerdy but stylish American 16-year-old who's there for a month go to meet likeminded kids around her age? This is my daughter's situation. Also, any other recommendations for her, as long as she's there? (She has a few years of school French but is not fluent.)

Help me add a little lagniappe to my France trip
I am traveling to the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France for a 5-day wine trip with friends. I don't want to fly to Europe from the US for only 5 days, so I'm adding travel on the front and back end of the group trip. Where should I go? [more inside]

France Travel Filter: Is renting an EV for vacation recommended?
I'm planning a trip for my SO and I sometime later this year to France (no actual dates yet). We'd like to visit some regions of France where public transit is not as prevalent and are planning on renting a car for part of the trip. I've seen on various auto rental sites that you can rent an EV at very low rates but I'm not sure that where we're going has a lot of infrastructure for EV charging. Are we setting ourselves up for a logistical nightmare? [more inside]

Air travel from US to France & back: how get Covid test prior to return?
In about 2 months, I probably have to travel to Paris from California. It looks like there is a US federal requirement to get a Covid test prior to return to the US. What are my best options to get the test done in France prior to the return flight? It looks like CDG airport offers on-site testing, but they don't recommended waiting until travel day to get tested. [more inside]

Would I be insane to travel to Paris next month?
I saw a headline about how, with flights incredibly cheap because of COVID, Millenials are taking the opportunity to travel. My first thought: oof, bad idea. My second thought: wait, how cheap are we talking? [more inside]
