'The hole' in theory and thought

I am interested in 'the hole' in its conceptual, metaphorical, and literal crossovers. Who has written about holes? In the ground? In theory? In myth and fiction? [more inside]

Singularities and Sisyphean Spikes in literature and film

Looking for literary/filmic examples of singularities, infinite pits, wormholes, whirlpools, bore holes, large spacetimes in tiny crevices. But also... Peaks too high to navigate, infinite ascents, Sisyphean feats of endurance, energy spikes set to break reality, very tall towers.

I'll be off to the British library tomorrow, so the sky is the limit. [more inside]

2nd person perspective narratives

Fiction usually comes in two flavours: 1st person narrative or 3rd person description. What short stories or novels have been written in 2nd person perspective (i.e. from the reader's viewpoint)? Also, are there any movies shot entirely from this angle?
