Reliable yet cheaper ways to transfer money from US to Korea?
Looking for recommendations for currency transfer services that are reputable, reliable and won't tack on as many fees as an international bank wire. This is for sending from a personal bank account in the US (from USD) and transferring to a personal bank account in South Korea (to KRW). In case it makes a difference, I'm interested in both of these scenarios: [more inside]
Best banking solution for being paid in pounds, but living on euros?
For the next three years, I will be paid in sterling pounds as an UK employee. However, I will be living in the Netherlands for the next 1-3 years (so, potentially during the whole contract). What is the best solution for a bank account that takes in pounds, but allows me to spend euros? I would like a Dutch, euro bank account for the time that I am in the Netherlands. I want to try to avoid transferring all of my salary to euros, as I may move to the UK soon... and transferring pounds to euros and back to pounds seems like a waste of money. [more inside]
Help me bill via PayPal, across continents?
Europeans using PayPal to bill customers in the U.S. or U.K., can you help me? I want to bill for services using PayPal, and then transfer the money to my Greek bank account. Greece uses the Euro. I'd like to bill in dollars for my U.S. clients, but I'm a PayPal newbie as far as receiving funds is concerned. Is there something that I should know about fees or ... um ... anything, really. I don't even know what I don't know! Any tips/advice will be helpful; don't assume it's too minor. :)

I have some US dollars in my UK Paypal account. I would like to move these to a US bank account in order to pay for a service. I can think of two ways of doing this. Are my numbers correct? Am I missing something? What's the best (read: cheapest/quickest) way of doing this? [more inside]
oh my should I put my money in a mattress?
I'm moving overseas from the US in less than a year, and my stellar powers of observation tell me that there's a good chance the dollar is going to eat shit before then. My savings are <$10,000, what can I do with them to ensure that I'm not cursing the economy when I leave? Is putting it in foreign currency enough, or is there a better option? How do I do that? How to purchase Iraqi Dinars?
How would one go about purchasing new Iraqi Dinars, if one were so inclined? My local banks (in Canada) laughed at me, as it is not apparantly exchanged outside Iraq, and the Internet seems to be full of ripoffs selling the currency as "collectibles" at double the official exchange rate. Does anyone know a way I could buy the dinar anywhere close to 1460/US dollar?
