I have a Bank of America rewards card. I'm thinking about using the option of a BOA savings account to cash out my rewards for more cash back. Is this a mirage of a deal and will I incur unwanted financial scrutiny because of it? [more inside]

Because Reasons, I suddenly will be receiving $450K from a family inheritence. I'm in California. I have, like, a normal-sized bank account like normal people who don't usually receive $450K suddenly. I am going to have to find a financial planner who can advise me how to deal with this money long-term, but where am I going to put it, like, next week when they want to give this to me? UK banking query: I bank at the Co-operative Bank, which has just one branch in my town, miles from where i live & work. Can I i) pay cash in at any other bank [eg HSBC, Barclays, etc] via the counter and deposit in my account; ii) does this cost money? iii) does it take time to 'clear'?
