Audio Issues with Zoom (Webinars Only)
I am on Zoom calls/meetings many hours every day, but occasionally I attend a Zoom webinar. For some reason, only when attending a webinar, the audio is uncomfortably loud, and I am unable to change the levels. Poor microphone gain from bluetooth headsets in Windows 10
From a USB headset, the volume input level from the microphone is normal and good in Windows 10. From two sets from pretty-different sets of bluetooth earbuds the microphone input level is uselessly low... Could replacing my bluetooth adaptor have any impact on this? [more inside]

Video/Audio Lag/Desynchronizing Issue on PC
Since I installed a new graphics card, I've been noticing that after about 10 minutes of watching video on any medium, the video starts to lag a few seconds behind the audio. I've updated my graphics card drivers to latest and even beta versions to no effect. The audio drivers are ancient and haven't had a new release in several years. Could this be simply a bad graphics card or is there something else I should try before RMAing the card?

Help me get music in my car, please
I bought a 2020 Kia Soul and love it, except that the sound system in my previous 2013 Soul had HD radio stations on the FM band, and would also play music from an Ipod plugged into the USB. New Soul does neither, at least as far as I can tell, and there's no CD player. Is this a plot to make me subscribe to Sirius or something, or am I overlooking a solution?

I'm doing tech support for a small folk music organization that's running some live streamed concerts, and I'm trying to figure out if there's a magic compression setting that will help with the scenario where a band has a single microphone, most likely a LDC, that they're using both for their music and for introducing songs. Our workplace would be more inclusive if everyone had sound file of their preferred name pronunciation the directory. I need to make it very easy for folks to record and upload their files. We tried asking people to record files on their own; most found that too burdensome. Is there anything easier? Ideally, a link to a page where you type your name, push a button to record sound, and hit 'submit'. Does such a thing exist? Can I make one without too much trouble? I want our department to feel welcoming to our many international members, this is a small but important step. Help?
Audio-based stories pushing the envelope on the use of audio
Could be books, dramas, podcasts, anything audio based -- but used to tell a fictional narrative. Basically, I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks, as well as some audiodramas. I like the format a lot! That said, I'm looking for audio-based media like this where they reallllly lean into the audio. Sort of like if the radiolab folks made a really elaborate audio narrative. How to remove audio noise from MKV videos
I have some MKV videos that I need to transcribe. They have a sort of humming background noise which is presumably made by some nearby machines. They DO have some otherwise silent portions of video (where the background noise can be sampled). What's the best way to remove the background noise. I'd like to open the file, click a few buttons/choose a few options and then save-as. I do not want to become an audio engineer or pull the audio out of the video and then re-insert it or whatever. Planning to buy a wireless headphone for a hearing-impaired family member and wonder if it is possible to get audio from both headphones and TV speakers at the same time so people without headphones can watch together and still listen to the audio playing back from TV speakers. My experience with stereo or computer is that once headphones are plugged in the native speakers will be switched off. Any way or device that might help?
