Recommend printable card games for kids?

Hello! My soon to me eleven year-old is having a card game themed birthday party. I'd like to find a printable card game with creative commons licensing to give for party favors. Kids are 10-12 and into Harry Potter, RPGs and larping. What are your recommendations?

Roomy, flexible, waterproof snow boots?

I have wide, "tall" feet with high arches and insteps; also, duck-style splayed toes that I like to wiggle up and down when I walk. Normally I do barefoot or minimalist shoes, but most brands have limited winter offerings. Can anyone suggest proper waterproof snow boots (not fashion boots) that have wide, ideally untapered toe boxes AND a deep midfoot that won't press down on the tops of my feet? Light and flexible soles would be a huge bonus, but not absolutely required. [more inside]

How do I smoke my weed?

I recently came into possession of a bit of weed. I am in a state where weed is legal (yay!) but for REASONS I would still like to consume my weed discretely. I don't want to smell up my house, my clothing, or myself with the smell of weed. I also don't want to have to find a Weed Store and buy a Weed Thing to smoke my weed. I would like to buy what I need on-line and not have it arrive in a package that says WEEDSTUFF DOT COM. [more inside]

Get new tires BEFORE I sell my barely used bike (?) and other questions

About a year ago, I impulse bought a very nice road bike (Specialized Sirrus) with some accessories for all told, around $800. Fast forward to now: bikes just aren't for me, and I want to sell it.* I'm sure I won't get nearly as much as I paid, and I'm ok with that. Wondering the best way to go about selling with some specific questions. [more inside]

What live sports worldwide can I stream free with my VPN?

I am based in the U.S. but have a VPN. I enjoy watching live sports, especially various football codes (soccer, rugby, Aussie rules, Gaelic or Canadian football) and snooker, but other things too. Top flight competition is fine, but I enjoy minor league events as well: in the last few weeks I've streamed 3. Liga matches on German public television and a Welsh-language broadcast of Welsh Premiership Rugby via the BBC iPlayer, for instance. What kinds of other free but perhaps geographically restricted sports broadcasts could I be enjoying?

Sewing: practical source of zany kids' clothes, or more labor of love?

I'm considering buying a sewing machine, perhaps the Singer 4423 that Wirecutter likes, for making kids' clothing. Am I underestimating the difficulty involved? And/or, will my endless quest for affordable tall slim-fit clothes in bright/bold prints merely turn into an endless quest for affordable knit fabrics in bright/bold prints? [more inside]

Once you've mastered Ikea furniture...

I don't understand sewing patterns but I'd like to. I need someone to show me exactly how to interpret the pattern and put together the piece. Is there a video, preferably on YouTube, that shows every step in detail of a specific sewing pattern? Has to be an item of clothing or a 3D object more complicated than a pillow. No generic patterns or generic instructions-- needs to be a pattern with a number than I can buy and sew along with.

Games for mixed group

I’m looking for games and activities that are suitable for a family of mixed abilities including one senior who has trouble learning complicated new rules but does remember a lot of general knowledge stuff, especially literature and history. We used to play games that rely on mental ability but lately that seems unfair. Games like quirkle, chess, scrabble or rummy are out. [more inside]
